At the time when we must #StayHome and follow #SocialDistancing, our heart simply goes out to the people who are less privileged and most affected by the pandemic.
We at Eternal Charitable Foundation supports #BaruSahib under the direction and guidance of Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, have undertaken the following Sewas:
Adoption of 200 Siklighar families, Nahan (Himachal Pradesh)
They work as locksmiths and daily wage earners at Nahan (Himachal Pradesh), which is also a historic place blessed by Guru Gobind Singh ji. Their grocery, rations and other needs were taken care by the volunteers at Baru Sahib.
FREE Distribution of #Sanitizers and #Facemasks
In Village Panchayat of Lana Bhalta (Baru Sahib), 350 houses are being supplied with FREE #Sanitizers and #Facemasks through a door-to-door campaign every week. This is also essential to save the campus from any outbreak. Those in need of food are being supported with langar sewa as well. Along with this, FREE distribution of masks and sanitizers to frontline workers is carried out across Punjab and other states too.
Daily Langar Service (FREE Meal) at 10 Akal Academies
A daily langar service is also being undertaken at 10 Akal Academies where we have inbuilt Gurdwara Sahib inside school campus for feeding those who need the most.
Daily Baani Sanchaar by the students of Akal Academies
While the volunteers at Baru Sahib are serving on ground, our students at Akal Academies are contributing with ‘Baani Sanchaar’ everyday by performing ‘Sehaj Paaths’ and other additional Gurbani Jaap. Daily Online Sehaj is performed LIVE on Youtube/Facebook for 4 hours from Gurdwara Baru Sahib. During this adverse situation, we created an opportunity to involve 60,000 Rural Kids, their parents and grandparents in mediating “One Lord”.
Online Education #EducationLangar
Our teachers have taken an extra initiative to continue Online Education of all 65,000+ Rural Students across Akal Academies and Akal University. Our IT support team trained teachers to use applications like ZOOM/Google Hangout to continue studies. And, for the first time in history, Akal Academy Group of Institution’s held online examination and assessment of around 30,000 students during crisis.
Parents are also stressed out and unable to pay any fees at the moment. On the other hand, we need to pay for essentials to our Teachers and Staff. In order to continue supporting all these efforts, maintain families of the school staff and about 1300 boarding students at Baru Sahib, we need to keep the Sewa running.
